This card is inspired by the Kingfisher. The feather design is a combination of Dupion silk dyed blue with woad and dyed orange with weld and madder plus couched thread in hand spun wool dyed blue with woad. The ‘feather’ is sewn on linen fabric and the handmade paper background is with banana skin.

Each card has a brilliant design in silk, wool or handmade paper in bright natural dyed colours and a Happy Birthday greeting printed on the cover. The inside of the card is left blank for your own message. Each 6" by 4" (15 by 10 cm) greeting card bears a unique design on the centre of the front cover. The designs are 2.5” to 3” wide and comprise a handmade paper background, some with a foreground of silk and thread dyed with natural dyes. All the birthday cards are unique and the design may vary from the photograph. The cover of the card is printed with a birthday greeting but the inside of the birthday card is left blank for your own message. The cards are made from cream-coloured, 100% recycled paper.
