Strips of weld over-dyed with madder and woad on banana paper
This greeting card design is made with several types of silk and cotton dyed with plant dyes: coppery orange from the yellow of weld over-dyed with maroon red of madder roots and emerald green from weld over-dyed with woad. I made the white paper from shredded computer printout and the speckled brown backing paper is made from a mixture of banana skin and recycled paper.
