How Nepalese Walnut Rose Leaf Paper is made
The photos show walnut rose leaf gift wrap paper being made but the same method is used for fern leaf handmade papers & for the rose leaf and fern leaf papers made with other dyes such as cutch, indigo and pomegranate.
Walnut husks are boiled to make a liquor in which a sheet of lokta paper is dipped. The paper then laid flat to apply rose leaves across its surface and left to dry in the sun. The rose leaves are then carefully peeled off to reveal the finished walnut rose leaf paper.
